Indus runs as a lifeline through the length of Pakistan. The glaciers of the Himalayas and Karakorum provide a regular water flow all-round the year. Many civilizations survived and many empires have built their fortunes along it shores.
In this program we will explore the historical and present-day civilizations. Starting from Peshawar, tracing it through the plains of Punjab, following it into the deserts of Sind. We will travel in coaches, jeeps, camels, and float on flat bottom boats. The hotel stays are supplemented by wilderness camping, in desert and during the boat trip.
If you require mountains for biking Pakistan is the ideal country. Biking here is not just to enjoy scenery, its about experiencing the most fascinating and culturally rich mountain communities. While traveling here you are not required to be tired a lot to see high mountains, because here just from your bike trail you will be able to watch 7000mt peaks. In the Kaghan valley, at the foot of the great Himalaya, you bike along the moving caravans of nomadic herders. The 350 kms long dirt track between Chitral and Gilgit offers longest unspoiled stretch of unpaved road. For organizing such programs vista offers mobile kitchen and 4×4 support vehicles. The Khunjerab Pass is the highest paved way crossing between any two countries in the world and you find hotels all the way at regular intervals.
Northern areas of Pakistan are the meeting point of the mountain ranges. We have five out of fourteen 8000mt peaks. We have 7000mt peaks more than rest of the world combined and numerous un-climbed 6000mt peaks. It is also the home of the largest glaciated area outside polar region. Batura, Hisper, Baltoro and Biafo are valleys filled with perpetual snow for millions of years, a relic of the glacier ages. Most of these valleys are connected through high passes and we organize trekking tours over the glaciers and passes. The lower valleys also offer medium to easy routes for all ages in addition to Himalayan alpine forest walks.
Trekking involves daily walks of five to six hours with all the luggage being carried by porters. The long walks acclimatize you to the higher altitudes, which are planed at the end of the journey.
